Certainly, not everyone fares so well under the new scheme.  I am facing rate increases for higher deductables for spottier coverage.  I'd have to jump up a level to something yet more expensive to get something slightly better to what I had.

So, bully for you that it's working out so well for you.  It isn't working out so well for everyone.  Sorry.

I was shocked to receive a letter indicating our current individual plan is ending.  The same company's replacement plan on the exchange has higher deductibles and is 30% more expensive.
Then, there's the step-up plan, which is double the cost...

I'm glad some people are benefitting, but hubby and I are losing 6k a year to extra insurance rates.

Why can't we just have national healthcare like every other first world nation?!

You're absolutely right that I'm lucky. I shouldn't have to be; Nobody should have to be "lucky" to have affordable - or better yet, guaranteed healthcare. The ACA is a good start for many, makes no difference to many, and for some has allowed insurance companies to make things worse. So let's start talking about changing the current system further - perhaps by dismantling the mistaken notion that a "free market" system can work for healthcare insurance.
