get it back to the topic of the diary...

What do you think about a politician whose intent is to use their office as a stepping stone for personal enrichment, and act accordingly?

For example, let's say that said politician deals with issues related to telecommunications, and he's in touch with lobbyists from companies like AT&T, Verizon, etc.

And let's said that he's dealing with a piece of legislation that would address certain abuses by the telecommunication companies.

In that situation, what do you think if the politician makes his decision about whether to support the legislation based on his personal interests of becoming a high-payed lobbyist for the telecom industry?

And let's say that this politician tends to do this often, and then after he leaves office he gets a job as a lobbyist with the telecommunication industry that increases his salary an average of 1,500 percent?

Do you approve of it?  Let me know.  That's the focus of this diary.
