  •  The whole ACA is a mess (11+ / 0-)

It's overly complicated and far too dependent upon people taking the time to research their options.  Most people cannot or do not want to spend hours researching insurance plans.  Then they have to apply for subsidies, which inefficiently funnel money to high profitable insurance giants.

The whole thing is a like a nightmare out of some right wing think tank.  Wait!  It is a nightmare out of a rightwing think tank!  But the public will blame it on democrats.

    What a farce.

    •  Like you said, the problem is the insurance co's (4+ / 0-)

Ensuring universal health coverage is fundamentally incompatible with private health insurance profitability. You can have one or the other, but ultimately you cannot have both.

To the extent the ACA provides greater heath care coverage, even through the flawed instrument of private health insurance, it's better than the status quo. But that's all that can be said, really. We're just going to have to keep working to get where we all want to be (single-payer).
