    ...that these stores are going to be opening on Thanksgiving and depriving their workers -- the people who do the work necessary for the stores to be profitable -- of a day off on one of the biggest holidays of the year.

    At the same time movie theaters have long been open Thanksgiving Day and yet their workers have, at least to my knowledge, ever gotten the benefit of support from the general public.

    Sadly the culture's obsession with making money trumps the common decency of getting time off with family on a major holiday.  Where is the "family values" crowd on this?  Why no outrage from Sarah Palin and Bill O'Reilly about the "War on Thanksgiving?"

    •  I thought Michael's was the store that closed (0+ / 0-)

      on Sundays so that their staff could spend the day worshiping with their families.  Might be Hobby Lobby, but they're very similar.  If Michael's is open on Thanksgiving, splitting up families on one of this country's biggest holidays, well, that's very much a war on families.

        ...Hobby Lobby will be closed Thanksgiving.  Not sure about Michael's.
