    We have a variety here. I have wondered if they overwinter in the garden and what I shouldn't disturb if possible. I've learned what the overwintering prying mantis egg sack looks like. Love your ladybug story. I once bought a bag of live ladybugs and set them out in the garden in CA. Without landing in the yard they directly headed off to my neighbor's yard. It seemed to me that they were so pissed off about being in a bag that they just wanted to fly as far away from it as possible. I grow herbs which seems to attract them. They reproduced in great numbers around the watermelon last year and the dill this year. I think they are cute too.
