    an awful program.

    •  Isn't ACA closing the donut hole over time? Of (0+ / 0-)

course, it would be nice if the governemnt could negotiate pricing.

It’s the Supreme Court, stupid! Followed by: It's always the Supreme Court! Progressives will win only when we convince a majority that they, too, are Progressive.

      •  It's not just the donut hole...it's contracts with (0+ / 0-)

hundreds of pages of fine print of what pharmacies, what drugs, exceptions and tiers, deductibles and copays.

        It's a damn snarly mess...another insurance fiasco.

I thought I picked the right plan and then when I went to get my prescription refilled it was retail price which is astronomical even though it is a generic!! One, I have a deductible, which I was TOLD would disappear next year but now it seems it won't, and then two, while "X tartrate" is on the formulary as a Tier 1, "X succinate ER" which I take is not on the formulary at all for this plan, even though it is on the Medicare formulary.

And when I had asked the agent to check the plan she just checked "X", and told me yes it was covered, ignoring the two varietiies.

Jesus, you have to be a PHD to figure this stuff out. You ask the right questions and you can't trust ANYONE.

So luckily I still have time to change plans, but what a pisser

      •  And there's that bit that even if one takes no (0+ / 0-)

drugs whatsoever and has no clue what might be needed and when...a person is penalized 1% per month on premiums for every month a plan isn't carried.

Plan prices for the lowest AARP plan (high deductible...mostly covers nothing...just there to avoid future penalty) in AK went up from $15/mo to $28.10/mo this year--almost double.
