...and that will take some serious wind out of their sails in their efforts to make political capital out of this snag.  If they actually do support it then they have cooperated with Obamacare and have given it legitimacy.

I know that Sen. Landrieu isn't the most popular of Democrats here but it seems she has come up with a bluff that Republicans are damned if they call and damned if they don't and that's pretty bloody brilliant!

I'm having flashbacks to "republicans will never support the sequester".
Kos thinks it's a political winner. Chris Hayes thinks it's maybe a short-term political gain with long-term very bad impact on policy, which would lead to long-term political problems.
They're both smarter than I am, but I think I lean more to the Chris Hayes view.

      Really? We still believe this?

We still believe that there's going to be this huge day of reckoning where everyone in the country is going to turn on the R's for being obstructionist?

The R's hate Obama and will do whatever they can to sabotage him, especially the ACA. This is a given. It's old fucking news.

I can't believe some people still think letting the Republicans be crazy assholes (instead of calling them out, hard) is going to make us the "adults in the room" that everyone loves and then the R's will be finished. Has this ever worked? Ever?

We never get any points for being the adults in the room, especially with Republican-Lite policy.

Banking on the American people to be able to sort all this out and declare the adult in the room the winner is a very big bet. -Digby

I still think that Repugs are damned if they do and damned if don't.  Vote for it they further inflame the Repug civil war for having cooperated with the ACA.  Vote against it and they remove their latest outrage over it.

But you are also correct in pointing out that they have only one goal and assuming anything should be done with a ot of caution.
