      In extreme situations, like the threat of default, they held firm. But absent that, they tend to fold, especially when conditions aren't ideal. This isn't an extreme situation (although the totality of all these blocked confirmations makes it nearly so), and conditions are far from ideal.

          I'm only interested in what they WILL do. And I don't see them doing it, not now especially, but likely not ever. It's going to take another few election cycles to grow them a real spine. The need new leadership. Including the man at the top. He's a fool. A charming fool, but a fool nonetheless. He's useless.
