The "climate silence" campaign was never really truthful and I don't see the point in creating a narrative of failure. Obama is taking positive actions that merit attention. Why not bring a megaphone to the good instead of a muffler? Won't that help build support to do more?

    •  Because its close to nothing (4+ / 0-)

Obama has done close to nothing to significantly advance climate adaptation or de-carbonization.

The truth is we have to do ALOT more, so someone has to tell the public the truth.

We either solve this problem, or go extinct.

Obama has done a lot and much more needs to be done. That statement is both more accurate and more motivating than telling people that all previous efforts were a complete waste of time.
The coal plant operators planning to shut down in the next few years due to new epa rules disagree with your Debbie downer analysis. It's not entirely due to natural gas.

Sorry, I want a future, and we have a very very very narrow window to remain under 2° Celsius.

Read the links I pasted below, from a leading Climate Scientist.

Your links don't show that what Obama has done is next to nothing. They only show that we need to do much more, which I already wrote that I agree with. Those are two different questions.

But now I understand your desire to diminish what Obama has done so far. You hope to convince people that their efforts thus far are a waste of time in order to motivate them to support revolutionary socialism. You have to distort reality to fit your ideological worldview. The trouble with that approach is that it very rarely creates new socialists (or Greens when they use the same tactic). Convincing people that their efforts are a waste of time usually convinces them to stop trying, which is what most of America's working class have done. You're not helping.
