One: As long as Obama pursues an "all-of-the-above" approach that promotes fossil fuels, success on the climate front will be limited.

Please cite which countries in Europe you mean. Denmark, for instance, has a goal of 100% renewable energy by 2050 and has a very strong wind sector. Germany's focus on renewables is by no means sufficient, but it has been far better than anything we've seen in the U.S.

    •  Denmark is a small country. (0+ / 0-)

I mean larger countries with larger economies, like Germany, the U.K., Italy, Spain.

They all cut back or are cutting back on renewables or are doing their best to block them now.

Germany is only so far ahead because of the Red-Green Coalition that was in power until 2005.  Since Merkel, however, they have been doing their best to slow the implementation of renewables to a snail's pace.

The U.S. has been going in the right direction since Obama and the Dems took over, and it is accelerating.  In most of Europe, on the other hand, it is decelerating and/or has started going in the wrong direction.
