to Robert Lanza, the Wake Forest professor who can "prove" there is an afterlife. I did a little reading, and this is very fascinating stuff.

    From his website:

Instead of assuming a reality that predates life and even creates it, we propose a biocentric picture of reality. From this point of view, life—particularly consciousness—creates the universe, and the universe could not exist without us.
It is a serious examination of a fundamental assumption. And he offers a scientific basis for it.

Lanza is not a crackpot. He is one of the leading stem cell researchers in the world, a professor at a well-respected university, and a deep thinker. His ideas are very radical but offer an explanation for the baffling world of quantum mechanics, among other things.

It's serious business. Consciousness may very well create the universe, or at least help to create it.
