about Brown so much as people would prefer Heather Mizeur instead.  Mizeur is a little more progressive on economic issues and would be the first openly lesbian governor elected anywhere. However, there are no major issues where I think Brown is not progressive enough, and is a much stronger statewide candidate, so I think if Mizeur weren't an option Brown would be the consensus choice.

Who supports Mizeur who would not vote for Brown in the general. If Gansler were the nominee in the general, I don't know if the same would be true. Gansler has staked out several economic positions well to the right of Brown.

There are some front-pagers who support Mizeur who might stay home for Brown, but that's not the typical voter at all.  I think that there are definitely Brown supporters though who would be less inclined to support Mizeur, like the ~9% last year who voted for Obama and against Question 6.

        •  Oh well if we're talking front pagers (0+ / 0-)

Particularly ones that don't live in Maryland, sure I could see some who would vote Mizeur and then bitch about Brown all through the general. I dont think we're necessarily have a lot of Brown primary voters refusing to support Mizeur in the general. There would be some, but it's not like she's running as the lesbian candidate, and her choice of running mate would bring some of the more likely defectors back into the fold.
