    are sacrificial lambs, and to his credit, Scott Howell did try. But yeah, after his "ORRIN HATCH IS TOO OLD" thing, any hope of cracking even 35% was doomed.

    As for the Romney wave; it's interesting; the ultra-progressives insist that it didn't exist to the extent that it does and we just had crappy candidates, or that the moderate Dems betrayed us and voted for moderate-seeming Republican candidates (in Muniz's case, since most progressive Dems agree that she was a good candidate). Of course, they insist on trying to topple Matheson, so...

    IMO, the Muniz-Hall race is a clear indicator of at least some Romney coat-tails, even though Utah's already so inhospitable to Dems that there wasn't much left for us to lose.
