  •  Has anyone seen their new commercials? (7+ / 0-)

Granted, maybe they've been on for a while and I just didn't notice (I tend to tune out Walmart commercials), but there is a new PR campaign and the commercials aren't about products, but touting vague "benefits" employees receive at "the real Walmart," the implication being, of course, that all employees receive a fantastic health insurance policy from Walmart and some other unexplained perks. Despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Who are they kidding? Who do they think they are going to convince? And if they've realized the problem is bad enough that Walmart needs a PR campaign, why don't the commercials actually provide any detailed evidence? They provide a smokescreen without any changes at all, as if spending millions to muddy the debate is more important to Walmart than fixing the actual problem, which is that Walmart pays poverty wages and their "health plan" = paying people so little that taxpayers have to foot the Medicaid bill. What kind of idiot shareholders thought this was a great idea? We have the data. We know how much money Walmart is draining from our wallets. Claiming otherwise at this point is so dishonest, I'm not even sure who they think will believe them? This is like Mitt Romney campaign/McDonald's "budget" level public disconnect.
