Thanks for your kind admonishment that signing up a family member for government-subsidized health care is a risky business that could result in crippling fines and severe punishment because fraud. I'm sure you wouldn't want to discourage the practice for any other motive than protecting me.  Fortunately, your concern is not based in reality: my niece was at my side the whole time, providing the information needed to set her up, and she would not have done this on her own.  She was glad I volunteered to be the contact person should there be trouble down the line with her services - I am in a much better position to understand and translate for her what is needed to maintain her full access to health services into the future.

You are relatively new here, if I recall? Sometimes people see issues we don't or don't know all the background, so they say things that feel odd or even challenging. (I thought the same thing when I read Neuro's comment to you.) I try to give them the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise in subsequent comments. Keeps my blood pressure down. :-)  And in this case it gave us even more insight into your journey!  Sending you and your family good thoughts.

And you might have noticed comments here on Silver benefits. I know you have to go back to the exchange to make changes, but I hear it can be done.
