  •  And people will go to the exchanges (1+ / 0-)

this is the long term plan to wrench people away from employer provided healthcare, get them used to being responsible for their own insurance, which presumably employers will pay enough of a salary to cover it since they no longer have to pay for insurance. Next step - universal care. It's a plan.

Having people be responsible for their own insurance is a great goal.

But, what happens when they lose their employer subsidized healthcare and they go to the exchanges and find higher prices and insurance they view as being inferior?

And before you go on about "caps" - you may be right, but people don't understand that until they actually have a serious illness and run into the problem.

Even if Employers give additional funds  to represent their savings from not giving health insurance subsidies it is guaranteed they'll deduct the $2k penalty from that, plus they'll almost certainly hold back some savings for higher profits and to reflect the administrative costs incurred during the transition.

All this points towards a lot of extremely ticked off consumers/voters.
