  •  I wonder what wealthy Republicans dream? (10+ / 0-)

Do they dream? You've got every earthly wish fulfilled, every desire met. Maybe we need to disregard what people who can't dream have to say for those of us still working to make our dreams come true.

They aren't big, important dreams. They aren't lavish dreams of righteous retribution on the thieves who've kept us down. No, they're pretty simple dreams, easily within reach if our nation and our world only had the will.

See how cranky the wealthy are this weekend, when they can't send us off by the thousands to die for their Iran dream? Thousands to die, and billions of dollars to be seized.

    •  GOPers dream of dim watted sheeple. (7+ / 0-)

& the noddin' wink to Philip K. Dick is purely not coincidental.

The whited sepulchres on Capitol Hill claiming to be Christian should pull out their Bibles, turn to 2 Samuel, and start reading the 12th chapter:

After King David of Israel got the wife of his soldier Uriah pregnant and couldn't get Uriah to go to his wife (making it plausible that the child could have been Uriah's), David sent Uriah into a losing battle, knowing full well he would be killed.

The prophet Nathan soon came to see David, saying: “There were two men in a certain town, one rich and the other poor. The rich man had a very large number of sheep and cattle, but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him.

“Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrained from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belonged to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him.”

David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, “As surely as the Lord lives, the man who did this must die! He must pay for that lamb four times over, because he did such a thing and had no pity.”

Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man!”

But of course they would never take a lesson from the downfall of David. It's one of those parts of the Bible they don't like so they just ignore it.

Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
