  •  I was thinking the exact same thing (5+ / 0-)

...go after criminals and get them out; looks good and is good.  But  leave alone the working, contributing family members that make a stronger family unit needed for kids, community.

The only thing I can think if is that Obama doesn't want to appear weak and goes to record proof.

    •  But he won't get the credit for it... (4+ / 0-)

The GOP isn't going to celebrate him for deporting a bunch of people. In fact, being the shameful opportunists they are, they're far more likely to bring it up as a negative during Hispanic outreach, to try to muddy the waters a bit.

But really, I'd like the President to start exercising some of his authority to have the executive branch enforce the law in a more reasonable and humane way, pretty much across the board. If he wouldn't do it to Jamie Dimon, he shouldn't do it to anyone else.

thinking politically for a problem that needs more of a human touch for a solution.  So, was Obama thinking with his political hat on thinking to gain acceptance from across the aisle?  Or what?  Because if that was his goal, he missed the mark...he will never be accepted by them.  And history will be no kinder to him with these human interest stories showing how he played politics when people were suffering.
