  •  Ah, is this an "evil libertarian" smear job? (4+ / 0-)

    Sure looks like it.

    No thanks.

    •  I don't see anything (6+ / 0-)

in the diarists profile that would make you think that DH.

I read the NSFW article last week and it was interesting and fully linked. Worth a read, and I'm not trying to be argumentative, really.

        to be argumentative, fwiw.

I may have overreacted a bit. I was mildly agitated at something else at the time I posted my comment above.

My criticism wasn't necessarily pointed at the diarist himself, per se, but the diary itself.

It just struck me as a "I like these guys, but...Teabagger associations."

Apparently the diarist didn't end-up participating in the comments to clarify a bit more, which usually goes a long way towards pacifying reactive people like me. lol.

    •  There are a lot of assumptions in this diary (4+ / 0-)

Greenwald, Rosen and Scahill are not neophytes.

      •  At this point, I think it's a bit early for... (5+ / 0-)

judgment. It's ultimate success will depend on the freedom given the reporters. And, since Omidyar's track record is so dubious; it's overall credibility hinges on the reporters themselves.

Omidyar went out and bought the best investigative journalists out there. And Scahill, Greenwald, Rosen, Poitras, Froomkin and others are all staking their careers on this project working.

If it's to be successful, collectively, the aforementioned  must be allowed to exercise full editorial control. That's the only way this can work.

I'm cautiously optimistic because I want this to work.

    •  sheesh (0+ / 0-)

a completely unwarranted, baseless and dickish comment at the very top of the diary. Unbelievable.
