  •  DC Circuit may go the way of the 4th Circuit (3+ / 0-)

The 4th Circuit was seen as a bastion of conservatism for many years.  It was considered the preeminent conservative appeals Court.

Then Obama appointed 6 justices to it, and it is now a center-left appeals court.

Similarly the DC Circuit Court was a bastion of conservatism, especially on economic issues.  Reagan and Bush Sr. appointed several justices and packed this Circuit with far right garbage.  GWB furthered that by putting Janice Rogers Brown, perhaps the most far right radical in the entire federal judiciary.  Short of the Supreme Court, the DC Circuit Court is the most important one in the country.

Obama immediately with his four nominees turns this into a center-left appeals Court.  But it is very likely that two Clinton appointed liberals, Judith Rogers (75 years old) and David Tatel (71 years old) will take senior status very soon.  And it is also very possible that a conservative nominee, Karen Henderson (70 in 2014) also will take senior status, giving Obama an additional 2-3 judges to appoint.  The end result of this is that of the 11 active judges on the DC Circuit, Obama might appoint 6-7 of them, along with Merrick Garland, a moderate Clinton appointee.

Obama better be vetting these judges immediately and have them ready to go whenever these slots open up, so they can be confirmed within a couple weeks.

Don't call these racist thugs the tea party, they are *teabaggers*! Please don't insult the original Tea Party as they were patriots. Call them TeaBaggers!
