    by Catholic theologian James W. Douglass, which walks you through the political mine field of the early 60's while casting a light on Kennedy's evolving understanding of the necessity of peace for the planet.

    Kennedy was shocked and appalled by the Military Industrial Complex's obsession with war and death.

    I think you'll find it confirms a lot of what this excellent diary touches upon.  John Kennedy was a flawed man, but he had a heart and had not lost the ability to care and to learn.
