I remember all of us being taken to the gym for an assembly and being told the President had been killed.  We watched the news all weekend and I remember watching Jack Ruby kill Oswald.   I remember watching the funeral on tv and will never forget watching Caroline and John John, or watching the procession or the riderless horse or the sound of the of the horses' hooves on the pavement.  It truly was the end of innocence.

I, too, was deeply affected by Martin and Bobby's death.  It seemed like all hope was gone.  The 60's were a tough time to grow up.  But we kept pushing on and the hope renewed and the dreams lived on.

Thank you for your wonderful diary.

      all of us.

We do keep pushing on. I think it's one of the things I admire the most about us. In spite of everything, so many of us didn't sell out, give up or give in.

There's a lot to be said about that. :)
