  •  After a tornado grazed our house back in 2008... (4+ / 0-)

my first instinct (we were in the basement shelter area) was to go upstairs and look outside. I opened the front door and besides a shit-ton of water on the front porch, there was a triangle shaped piece of paper about the size of a grocery bag. I turned it over and realized it was a piece of wallpaper. That's when I knew some serious shit had happened somewhere.

I threw on shoes and a rain poncho without even thinking about it to head outside and check on our neighbors. Our neighborhood was the last hit by this tornado and everyone was o.k. But even with superficial damage to our house and yard, the repair bills still totaled over $25,000!

Thanks for posting the video and hopefully it can be a reminder that severe weather is nothing to scoff at or minimize.

something very large and heavy hit the roof of our house. After the storm passed I couldn't find any evidence of what it was and can only guess that something very big was blowing across the state like a piece of paper.
