    take on the 2nd Amendment, too . . ..

    Just saying, they seem to have faded into irrelevance (although the 3rd Amendment * does * seem to be holding it's own, comparatively speaking).

      2nd amendment was dictated by expediency, racism, ignorance, and a cultural bias that has taken hundreds of years to even recognize as existing, 200 years to even approach changing, and still has not been eradicated.

      I would contend that the take on majority rule and minority rights (in the sense of group interactions, with no reference to skin color, ethnicity, gender, or preferences) is one that is much more "mature" -- it was a question that existed and was a matter of significant debate long before Europeans even knew there was a continent across the Atlantic.
