    Which is the topic of the diary.

    What we have in the past is both policies and outcomes. There's no ideology to it were it not for the fact that we have the conquest movement of global ownership that insists that the reality of reason, experiment and history is mere ideological opinion while the imperative of surrendering all to ownership is common sense.

    Respecting JFK on deficits does not bind us to respecting him on cutting top marginal rates plus or minus loopholes not mentioned in the quote. Nor respecting FDR on banking regulation requires us to emulate his Japanese-American internment.

    If studying both the theories and their outcomes of the past is ideology then reason does not exist at all.

    Which is tolerably close to the conservative world view.
