    While it feels good to bash the insurance companies, even if we eliminated them tomorrow, we'd still be paying far more for medical care than other developed countries. For example, I was prescribed Voltaren Gel for an arthritic big toe joint. One tube even with insurance cost me $38. While visiting family in Canada last month, I was able to buy the same stuff over the counter for $10 a tube!
