    for many, many years.  I actually liked it.  

    But retail workers aren't the only workers who have to work on holidays, and that was kind of the point of why I wrote this diary.

      for over a decade. She often would volunteer to work Thanksgiving as not only did they get paid more but she liked being with the patients on a holiday. She worked in a nursing home and while some were able to leave for the day with family, some did not have family or were too ill to leave the nursing home.

      I worked a couple of thanksgivings in a residential psychiatric facility and we would only have one or two people who did not have family taking them for the holiday. I also wanted to be there for them and we would have special activities.

        the road with my trucks.  But hey, if the servicemembers today are lucky, maybe W will swoop in with a fake turkey in Afghanistan for old time's sake!
