    use of its property, it can pay property taxes. Or sell some of it.

    The point is that nonbelievers should not have to contribute to that "humble" priest's housing costs. If he's poor he can apply for section 8 and food stamps like every other poor person, unless f course he is a republican (as most clerics are), in which case he can pull himself up by his own cassock straps and start a television ministry.
