  •  I voted for Leave It to Beaver, but I'd (6+ / 0-)

    like to mention one that barely belongs in the category time-wise. It's My World and Welcome to It. Based on the writings and drawings of James Thurber, it was great television. The series had a short run in 1969-70. It may have been too quirky for the mass market.

      I liked it, but really can't remember any episodes: probably b/c the other shows we've been discussing have been in reruns and the Thurber show just...died.

      You'd think, wouldn't you, that it could be revived on cable or by Netflix?

        get several different broadcast "oldie" stations, ME TV, Antenna TV, THIS, Oldie, MOXIE, RTV. I sent a comment to ME TV requesting it, but so far, nothing. Here's hoping.

      Reinforced my love of and appreciation for Thurber.  Came in 1969 and 1970.
