    It's not anything I haven't told my own kids, or my own sisters for that matter. I know it's harder to see from the inside. But friends stand by you, they don't run off to be besties with someone who has a history of bullying you. That's not a friend, that's a back stabbing acquaintance.
    I had a group of friends from 4th grade through high school and beyond. We stuck together through one having a baby in her senior year, and one getting involved in drugs we had to drag her out of. We didn't approve of some of their decisions, but we supported them where we could, and talked to their parents when it was beyond us. Sometimes that was very hard to do, but it was for their own good, and once the crisis was over, they forgave us, acknowledged we did the right thing and we were friends again.
