you'd think this judge would know this.

    THAT SAID

Wind Turbines do produce infrasound, which can cause some strange effects in human beings. If there's a cause for this alleged syndrome, I suspect that's what it'd be, but I don't think it'd be enough to cause injury beyond a vague sense of something being off in the environment.

Can one of you infrasound people at least link to a study or something?

      •  you really misinterpreted that comment (0+ / 0-)

as being anti-wind because of infrasound.

        Here's one...

        Here's the take-away from it:

From an overall perspective, measured G-weighted infrasound levels at rural locations
both near to and away from wind farms were no higher than infrasound levels measured
at the urban locations. The most significant difference between the urban and rural
locations was that human activity and traffic appeared to be the primary source of
infrasound in urban locations, while localised wind conditions appeared to be the primary
source of infrasound in rural locations. Of particular note, the results at one of the houses
near a wind farm (Location 8) are the lowest infrasound levels measured at any of the
11 locations included in this study.
This study concludes that the level of infrasound at houses near the wind turbines
assessed is no greater than that experienced in other urban and rural environments, and
is also significantly below the human perception threshold

    •  The question is the volume level of infrasound. (9+ / 0-)

A car driving down the highway creates sound below hearing frequencies too. Waves crashing on the beaches created infrasound. A LOT of things generate infrasound all the time. It is all around us.

The science says that Wind Turbines don't generate anything but very low levels of infrasound. Nothing ever proven to cause an effect on humans.

Just more BS from people who don't know, nor care to know the science. Remember who started this baloney...

The infrasound hypothesis was put forward by Dr Nina Pierpont , a paediatrician, in her book Wind Turbine Syndrome —294 pages of self-published, non-peer-reviewed material, based on phone interviews with 23 self-selected people who claimed that their widely varied symptoms were all caused by wind farms.

      Case closed.
