3 1/2 years to get it right and they blew it big time.

We have a year to recover, hopefully.

    •  And there will certainly be.... (4+ / 0-)

....another shutdown crisis in a few months.

      •  We can't keep looking forward (5+ / 0-)

It might be better for Obama and Dems if the budget committee agrees to some relatively small budget that reduces the sequester cuts for the next two years.

It probably boosts the economy a bit, which might help incumbent GOP reps, but also might help Obama.

    •  No, we don't (6+ / 0-)

We need to start pulling ahead very quickly on the generic ballot in order to get the best recruiting of ACTUAL candidates for races. We need to be ahead by about 7% to overcome the gerrymander.

I truly believe the ACA will become popular--but not soon enough. We need more points on the board. We need the media talking about other things--things that make Dems look good and GOPers look awful.

The ACA fixes and increasing good news needs to ADD to our generic lead.

      •  Might be able to fight gerrymandering locally (0+ / 0-)

In states like PA and FL which are heavily gerrymandered but have unpopular Governors, we need to make sure that we have a candidate in every seat and try to tie all Republican candidates to the Gubernatorial policies.

Also, hammer every R on the NSA spying and the shutdown votes where they voted wrong for the country.

Some states can and will be different.

      •  All Is Doomed! (0+ / 0-)

As can be seen in the last elections (3 weeks ago) the Democratic Party is obviously dead, what with the Republican sweep of every major election in the United States.

I for one am switching sides as I await the privatization of social security which is bound to happen any day now.
