  •  Ironic CBS Evening News sign-off (1+ / 0-)

Watched the CBS evening news (on Sky News in the UK) and the did cover the findings of their internal inquiry. Two things came out of it:

Their coverage claims that the employees requested the "leave of absence" rather than CBS using it as a disciplinary measure.

The final item was on oil painting counterfeiting in China after which the anchor signed off with "that's the GENUINE CBS evening news".

We will work, we will play, we will laugh, we will live. We will not waste one moment, nor sacrifice one bit of our freedom, because of fear.

For crying out loud. Do they have any idea just how weak and pathetic that made them look? Instead of firing her ass like should have been done, they force her to take a nebulous leave? Then they come back and say it was a requested leave? That bungles this in to a whole new layer of fail.

    •  I think he said that they were requested to (0+ / 0-)

take a leave of absence ... not that they requested it.

It was a bit weak, but frankly, I was surprised they covered it at all.
