    Square.  People who follow CBS news knew who Lara was prior to her attack there, but let's face it, it was that attack that made her more of a household name.

    I think there's a good chance that the publicity she garnered following that, i.e. "hero journalist" status, enabled her to take her personal issues with the Arab "extremists" and express them professionally.

    On the other hand, it probably explains CBS's kid glove treatment of Ms Logan.  She's a media darling, a vicitm of sexual assault at the hands of the Egyptian crowds, and she had become one of their stars.

    It's been pointed out in earlier comments that CBS itself bears some responsibility for this debacle.  The speech should have never been made, the story should never have been considered (it's a non-story) and then once they did consider it, they should have made sure that it was properly vetted.
