    in a wrongful death of a worker or consumer if they are "people"?

    •  Typically it depends on their business structure: (2+ / 0-)

      sole proprietorship = yes
      partnership = yes
      corporation = no!

      It's called the corporate veil.  Those whose business structure is a corporation have almost jil personal liability and far more tax benefits--ALL for the benefit of the capitalists' version of unfettered progress.

      BUT poor slobs living in Pottersville-like conditions might very well say it's cronyism's "get out of jail free cards" for the benefit of the wealthy class over the peon class.

      I am not against business with incentives for working hard, but unfettered capitalism is just a recipe for sociopathetic greed that lets the most ruthless win at the expense of the long-term goals of our society and globe.
