poster child for why we need the ACA and more. Thanks for sharing. It's useful.

I wish there were some way to get your story and others stories like this (I'm sure there are very  many) out to the general public. So many people don't understand what it's like to be ill and not have insurance or good insurance. I think there hasn't been nearly enough discussion of how tens of thousands die every year because of not having adequate insurance.

Yours is an active situation. Another way people's lives are harmed is that people take risks and don't get screening and preventative care. My cousin has been avoiding PSA testing despite a doctor's concern (4years ago) of his rising numbers. A ticking time bomb, I'm afraid.

The state of Florida and their stingy Republicans in power are hurting and killing people

A work around to the denial of medicaid expansion would be acceptable (both pipe dreams right now I know, but maybe after next election?). Florida succumbing to the hospital lobby pressures and extending medicaid would be workable... but would not help anyone in other states. (My other half's sister in Alabama is in the same place I am, though she's younger and in better health at least).

My RW 'mother in law' without the law part... is OUTRAGED at Rick Scott and Alabama's governor as well. She actually supports the ACA. She sells health insurance to employers as an addition to her retirement. At first she was against it, and then she got the information packet from her company (I'm not sure which one) and read it through. She followed some links we gave her as well. And complete turn around on the ACA. She's going to help out with FloridaDad's first premium so it doesn't cut into our minuscule Christmas budget for the kids this year. I think it helps that she sees the impact in her own family.

I admire that, even in Tea people.

I hope you all had a good Thankgiving, and best of luck with things. I hope you can find the healthcare you need/work around the tangle that the weird Medicaid rules cause. You sound disabled. I hope you get disability.
