...it's the policies introduced AFTER he said it that are not grandfathered. Or so I've read. Insurance companies deliberately creating policies that they know won't be legal once the ACA goes into force? And then the GOP blaming Obama for it? Heavens! I criticize him for some things, but not this.

    •  Give it up. He is not a Saint (0+ / 0-)

He was misleading at best. But as doc2 said, there is a greater good.

      •  saints aren't perfect either. (2+ / 0-)

I'm not sure we can say today whether or not someday he'll achieve sainthood. All saints were human beings, they all thus were imperfect.

        •  I not only got to keep my insurance (0+ / 0-)

I have even better coverage now

Most knew the ACA would be blamed for everything bad the HC insurance industry does after it was passed , that is just one of many examples

...and YOU think I view him as a saint? Good grief, what a knee-jerk reaction. Try responding to what people actually write, instead of to some rox/sux narrative that I haven't ever fit into.

His inelegant statement about keeping  inexpensive-because-they-are-worthless insurance policies was unfortunate.  At the time, however, he wasn't talking to the self-insured.  He was talking to the people who had insurance through their companies, who were worried they would be forced to go onto the proposed exchanges.  He (poorly) articulated his reassurance that he wasn't immediately ending all non-ACA insurance plans.  It's unfortunate, but highly understandable.  How mamy of you have hundreds of news reporters and political opponents hounding you for answers everyday, just trying to catch you in a slip-up that they can use to undo your attempt to save millions of lives. More pressure than any of his detractors could withstand, I feel certain.
