Long may Francis live and long may his voice be heard throughout this world.  His words and actions and example since taking over as leader of the Catholic Church are sorely needed.  Given what I've seen and heard from the right-wing Catholic hierarchy in the United States, it is a welcome and joyful relief to see this man, who is so unlike them, in charge of the Catholic Church.  Like their fellow Republicans, the haters of the poor, the downtrodden, the homeless, the disabled, the disenfranchised among us, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has to be having a collective hate-fest over this honorable man who is now their "boss" (at least here on earth).  Let the sociopaths stew in their own juice.  Francis brings light where there is darkness and hope where there is despair and truth where it desperately needs to be said.  Bless him!  I walked away from the Church decades ago, but this man is a gift to all of us.  Our political leaders would be wise were they to hear what he says.  Anyone at their level showing disrespect to this man for daring to tell the truth should be crushed.  (I'm looking at you, Paul Ryan!)

    •  And wasn't it Sarah Palin who suggested (6+ / 0-)

that the Holy Father "didn't understand the Bible"?

that woman upside the head is so strong.  You'd think the empty-headed moron could just shut her pie-hole now and then so as to give the rest of us a break from hearing her most recent spew of word salad stupidity.  I cringed mentally when I heard that comment you mentioned.  Can't somebody put her on some stupid reality show where she gets voted off the island and into obscurity?!

She may be right, as the Pope may be reading the New Testament in Greek, not Elizabethan English - the way Jesus spoke.

        Oh wait!
