    They easily could be.  Political and industrial elements freak out at the prospect of defense cuts, naturally, fear and money are powerful political elements.

    To combat them a liberal would have to point at climate change and say look, we need the money, we're not cutting defense spending, we're switching the spending for solar so we as a species can survive.

    Switch the $20 billion Southwest Asia fuel bill for a $20 billion solar implementation for every high school in the United States.

    Some political bravery called for, but not a great deal. A very easy, very necessary sell.  Yet all I can do is hope for leadership to see it and use it for our people. Because they believe in us and our country. The longer I listen to leadership at war the more I doubt it.
