......the Thanksgiving bounty there, certainly better than me.  I've been a somewhat last minute customer at my barber's at times, but generally not that close to closing time.  Sorry about the hassle, but hopefully the increased take counted for something.

She even gave me a pastele, which I was much too full to eat, but took home to steam for breakfast.

We usually lock the door around 11:58, so on Black Friday they came in right before we would have closed. Damn. One of my coworkers went and locked the door anyway so nobody else could get in, and I killed the front lights but left the back-of-the-store lights on until we could get rid of them all.

The crew I work with now want to close on time and get the hell out.

......improvement on the previous crew?  Not being snarky with that question, strange as that may seem.

Julie is fabulous: fast, efficient, and just a joy to work with. Our new assistant manager, ditto.

But the old crew wanted to make sure everything was just right by the time we left, so we stayed (and got a bit of overtime) to make sure the store was perfect.

The newbies don't give a shit what the place looks like. They would rather text or talk on the phone than do work, they do the least amount possible, and at midnight they want to leave right away. The third coworker (after Julie and me) on Black Friday announced that the Fronting and Facing (exactly what it sounds like wrt shelves of product) was perfect.

Well, yes, it WAS perfect: b/c I went around and F&Fed the dozens of things she totally didn't even look at.

So there ya go. I have two great coworkers & half a dozen idiots/slackards.

Oh well.  I take it that you haven't pointed out their defects to the half dozen......
