Where I am, I get wireless coverage by the cell towers, but the Sprint PCS system doesn't get here, exactly. This matters, because that's what Credo uses. If I drive to the interstate, I'd be able to use them, but I'm outside of their network, so I've got to choose between scabby and crabby for cell coverage, and so I went with the #1 name in drug dealers' phones, Tracfone. It seemed more ethical than the other options of Wal-Mart's phone or Alltell or one or another shade of AT&T.

I was saying that, if one wanted to avoid AT&T, the choices are few in rural areas. For Internet, I can't get on via a dish, due to the tall trees, and the local cable monopoly is even more right wing than AT&T (really: 3 Foxes, no MSNBC at any price point; 50 channels for $75/mo), so there is no way I'll run phone through them. One town over in any direction, and the pressure's off, but, where I am, it's right or righter.

    Everyone's innocent of some crime.
