    We are doing cutting-edge HIV research right here in the US. It's one of the top priorities of the NIH along with Alzheimer's. Here's a link to research that's being done just in one institute in CA.

    Of course, ALL of the NIH is indeed stopped growing in 2006 and with the sequester, the budget is just about to be cut drastically further. I'm hoping that the President was referring to fulling funding the NIH by his statement.

      Obama has to begin every speech with "We're Number One, rah rah rah."  It's part of the job.  And it's part of the job to call BS.  

      And yes, there's more to fighting HIV than budgeting research.
