    authoritarians' definition of "civilized" ... such as that definition was/is.

    Now, me, I forthrightly admit I have some serious prejudices against certain practices.

    I'm not a big fan, for example, of the Santeria religion -- in any of its forms. Nor am I "down with" the notion that for chastity's sake a woman should be circumcised, whether the claimants profess Islam or some other faith. Honor killings of women believed "debauched" by rapists is another such practice.

    None of these has anything to do with the historical and spiritual influences and traditions to be found among Native dancers, though.
