  •  Been under the weather for a couple weeks-- (12+ / 0-)

not so much that I missed work, but life is more resting than acting; which has given me a bit more time for leisure reading.

Finished off The Book of Joe and Everything Changes, both by Jonathan Tropper (dropped off by my sister who feared I was running out of things to read). They are well written and the plot moves--even insightful at times. But wholly predictable and, if this makes any sense, slight. I enjoyed them but have no problem trading them in at the used book store.

Finished Black and White on the Rocks by a local professor at UNO, Fredrick Barton. I read it because it was passed to me and we try to support local talent. Sorry, I disliked it on so many levels I would need a diary to sort that out.

About to finish a reread of The Brothers Karamazov for a Books that Changed My Life diary that I promised Diana in Nova over a month ago (I'm not good with deadlines, obviously).

About to finish a reread of The Last Stand of Mr. America by a friend, Jason Flores-Williams. It is not a book for the faint of heart but I am enjoying it even more than when I first read it.

Just started a reread of le Carre's The Little Drummer Girl because I so appreciate his early work and I picked it up for a nickle at the library book sale.

About to start Mennonite in a Little Black Dress: A Memoir of Going Home by Rhoda Janzen. This is in order to part of my family's unorganized book club (hey, I have seven sisters, so my preferences are sometimes discounted; but they have introduced me to many good books I otherwise would not have read).
