  •  It's more fun to talk about ponies when (12+ / 0-)

we know we're never going to get a real one.

"First, we make a commonwealth of our family. Then, we make a commonwealth of families. Then, we make of ourselves a political commonwealth. We engage in the ongoing process of self-government which, first and foremost, is a creative act." - C. Pierce

    •  great comment - fake ponies like fake celebrities (7+ / 0-)

      the American culture on trial

American Exceptionalism not so Exceptional as Empire Declines

but, the real issues are about elections!!!

      not about the constitution

      not about the truth

    •  Gee, it's the Purity Defense, to which (5+ / 0-)

      I have to say:

Is it being a purist to ask that a Democratic President not appoint THREE Banksters as Chief of Staff?

Is it being a purist to ask that a Democratic President not appoint a Wall Street Predator as Treasury Secretary?

Is it being a purist to ask that a Democratic President not put a Monsanto Lobbyist in at the FDA?

Is it being a purist to ask that a Democratic President not continue anti-teacher / anti-student policies enacted by his R predecessor?

Is it being a purist to ask that a Democratic President NOT publicly Defend & Praise Wall Street Predators as "Savvy Businessmen"?

Is it being a purist to ask that a Democratic President NOT use his Executive power to create an anti-worker "Deficit" Commission stacked with anti-social program zealots?

Is it being a purist to ask that a Democratic President NOT advance the amazing policy that the President can maintain secret kill lists?

Is it being a purist to ask that a Democratic President not advance anti-worker pro-1% Predator "Free" Trade deals?

Is it being a purist to ask that a Democratic President not have a State Department that green-lights environmental destructive pipelines?

Is it being a purist to ask that a Democratic President's Department of Justice not publicly grant Wall Street Predators immunity?

Such high and unreasonable expectations I have.

PS: There's a common thread in the items above: They didn't involve Congress or the Republicans.  Those items were pursued under the (D) President's own initiative and power.  No one made him.  He wasn't tricked.  It's not some 11th Dimensional Chess Game.

It's exactly what it looks like:  Naked advancement of 1% / Empire's interests.

The 1% are Purists: They only support Candidates that Deliver Results They Can Bank On. Don't they know they should compromise? /sarcasm
