    What they cannot do, almost uniformly, is walk out of the theater and detect the still-extant residue of that world all around them.
    occurs because the residue emanates, like a stench, from themselves. It's often hard for those originating something so malodorous to recognize either the smell or its point of origin. It's unfortunately become something to which they've grown accustomed, or something they even find mutually appealing between themselves and their "breed."
