    we have an obligation to think through each case and try to figure out the best- or in some cases least worst- option. and sometimes that least worst option still will result in massive bloodshed- as in syria, right now, after the correct decision of not bombing. the fun part is that the white house can be criticized either way!

      we have an obligation not to completely ignore the other factors and long term plans to overthrow governments too, and to stop talking about this as if it was just a humanitarian intervention or an assist to a revolutionary majority in Libya.

      From the start, the left has ignored this DemocracyNow! interview with Wes Clark some seven years ago, and the many other times he told this story. We are just now, in the past couple of months, starting to see a pivot away from the neocon foreign policy described here but up until now Obama has largely continued it.  This is settled, basically, and agreed upon by the left and the right, hyperpartisans excepted.
