    And thanks to the Obama Admin for not helping it at all.  Picking someone who might have a chance of running in 2016 as VP would have been a huge advantage, but... nope.

    •  Younger candidates that are relatively new (0+ / 0-)

      on the scene often pick older more established types to bring a comfort level to the ticket. JFK/LBJ, Dukakis/Bentsen, Bush/Cheney. Clinton was the only younger one who picked someone around his age but Gore had a fairly high political profile.  Besides, who could Obama have picked in 2008?
