  •  Yes, I honestly don't get it. (9+ / 0-)

But, as you imply, I guess that's a compliment to me.  :-)

I agree.  I'm sure they would never be satisfied.  But I would still like to put the blatant questions to them, just to see how they rationalize their boundless greed and obsession to acquire in their own minds.

And then, since their answers can only be completely irrational and lame, one could follow up with the next logical questions.

I guess, really, I would just like to ask them these questions and watch them squirm.

I also agree with the psychotic ideology.  If the average Wall Street Romney type came to me as a therapy client, I could only conclude they are deeply disturbed.  And they're supposed to be our "best and brightest"!

I suspect there is a touch of "mine is bigger than yours" but the key is Power and the egos are the size of Mount Everest.

The money becomes simply a way of keeping score.  You can bet that the player with $1 Billion (that's $1,000,000,000) is more than happy for any opportunity to laud it over the player with only $60,000,000.  It's so unnecessary and meaningless, unless you're the target and those snubs happen in front of your crowd at the country club.  People like these live in very small worlds of their own.

At my last job, I had to be around people in these categories for brief periods.  One of the things I noticed was that the mere millionaires liked to "drop names" of billionaires they had associated with, even if it was only for a few moments.  It's hilarious, oddly like grammar school with the plebes trying to hang at the edge of the popular kid's crowd.  "I was just saying to Richard Branson the other day..."

They don't win until we quit fighting!

super wealthy.  Just the very wealthy.  I have a bad tendency to drop names or say tings that are the exact opposite of this.  I think I have an illness that wishes to make sanctimonious ass wipes uncomfortable.  Although I have to say I do know folks who are very wealthy and not pretentious - at least around me.  They are generally kind and giving and very thoughtful of others and mindful of how lucky they are.
