reagan killed the fairness doctrine and the right bought up their radio monopoly.

so if they want to pass anti LGBT legislation or stop progressive legislation they pay their PR pros to develop a campaign for the relevant RW radio stations to create 'popular support'  to enable or intimidate the related politicians.

those local or national blowhards can then work for them basically for free for as long as needed to blow up the necessary outrage in the talk radio base/teabaggers/dittoheads and progressives don't know what hits them until it's too late.

maybe the stink tanks even pay callers to call the blowhards to prompt them, pass on the lies, etc.

that's been a very effective and very cheap operation to short circuit democracy and has been used successfully over and over for 25 years.

if the stink tanks are paying staff to supply material to those stations' producers and blowhards (the topics are often very coordinated with national events among relevant stations), that would mean the stink tanks are subsidizing those radio stations for political purposes.

can anyone tell me if that could be considered illegal payola?

This is a list of 76 universities for Rush Limbaugh that endorse global warming denial, racism, sexism, and GOP lies by broadcasting sports on over 170 Limbaugh radio stations.
